Age of Unity is One

This week embraces the 1st anniversary of the formation being Age of Unity.

We have reached and surpassed all what we expected and hoped to achieve, with all raids (with one special exception) beaten and farmed to equip a huge turnout of players that built AOU into the guild it is today.

From the stagnation of Raging Fury and D’Pikey guilds stuck on Sathiers tomb last year, which we promptly beat within a week of birth, and onto through the relatively easy to learn, difficult to execute Veeshans Peak events.

Entering the next/current expansion with some choice GM overseen beta testing with force, we experienced tug of war between flagging 100 raiders and progressing in a timely manner.  besting all the Tier 1 events reasonably well.

only posmoke proving a slight hindrance due to broken mechanics and server instability

As some important pen pusher probably said, you cannot please everyone all the time, we moulded the guild to best suit the majority and approach raiding best suited to our situation.

Tier 2 showed to be little problem for us besides general bugs and event changes and permakilled for a while trigger event NPCs

And only Tier 3 with its chalk and cheese events left, one beaten first day we tried it, the other one…. wasnt.

With Meratrash being what it was, insofar as no guild “should” be able to beat it (even though some have) we didnt throw ourselves at the event every day.

Instead, due to the EQ anniversary bonus zone events, the long awaited Gnome Memorial Mountain finally appearing, we pushed our interest towards that before Mera.

Which we beat in good speed, and as seems to be a common theme with the rule of three, the 2nd event was challenging, 1st and 3rd being pretty trivial in comparison.

So, all that remains now, is the Meratras event, which is a work in progress, while it might take us sometime to beat, its what we expect.

The Bird has flown.

RIP Dean – AKA Mistfalcon the Monk.

It is with great sadness and humble respect to have to write this, to report the passing of one of our guildmembers known ingame as Mistfalcon,

He joined our guild Age of Unity with its creation, having previously been in D’pikey – which he had been a part of since 2012.

I had known Dean since 2003 when his monk was named Lighteagle and we had been members of Arch Overseers on the Bristlebane server, at the time one of the strongest guilds serverwide in the game, and after its collapse due to EQ2/WoW launches he was part of the founding members who rebuilt the guild from nothing.

As Everquest progressed over the years I eventually moved servers to Antonius Bayle to find a better populated player base to suit my playtimes, Mistfalcon having a waning interest in playing at the time and loyal to the end with the guild he was part of stayed on Bristlebane, until a chance meeting a few years later as part of Beta testing, he decided to also servermove and join myself and Yinla on Antonius.

Due to the servermove, he had to rename his main character from its original Lighteagle to Mistfalcon, still keeping with the theme he liked.

It wasn’t unusual to see that if he wanted something doing well, he would play other characters at the same time instead of putting people out, with his main alts being a shaman (Kanala), cleric (Frythe) and a ranger (Dheanna)

To the end, Mistfalcon contributed a lot of strategy to learning each and every new event in Everquest, with a similar attitude to a lot of us, to learn the raids and beat them with what we have and not try copy others who had already a working plan.

And in memory of Dean/Mistfalcon, we beat the event yesterday which was the last he had input towards, he will be missed, and on behalf of almost 100 players in Age of Unity, thank you Mistfalcon for your time with us.

Stupid Mech Dragon

GMM – Dragon in the works aka GRRM Wheres my Dragon.

While we farm the flags and get everyone ready for Tier 3 madness of the last dollop of raids from the current expansion, we have been finding time to look at this BONUS CONTENT GMM event (weeks old pictures follow, as I was benched)

Edit : extra screenshots from Astralwiz !

As learning this has been consistent with current raids we would be lost without our guild fluffer Mizar, and tactic strategist Daze.

Very happy to get this event beaten the day before nerf patch even if I did get benched for the last sodding attempt and win, ill get my tick next week, and maybe even outbid Zzizz on loot from it.

Coming soon, GMM2 and TBL3 – though I dont know which will be first !
