Ring of Scale – Gorowyn wyn

Since the Cactus raid was unavailable, we had to go somewhere else, that somewhere else being Gorowyn.

The raid, well its pretty much the same as the group version of the event but with more trash.

Despite the raiding force enjoying the xp from killing the bosses more than once, we had to eventually win it for the loot, and it got a bit messy at the end, but a win is a win right?

I can see this raid being pretty much a farm status for a long time to come, seeing as we beat it only after a few tries and without spoilers.

After beating Gorowyn, where else was there to go? –  Skyfire.

The roughest of the group missions this expansion has translated well into raid form, with a lot of mobs and effects going on, including the death zone right behind you…

Khen he tank them all?, he will try !

As I finish this news report, I leave you with a quick animation of how it feels to organise and distribute loot after a new raid win in months and months.

Ring of Scale (the Tradesman’s entrance to Kunark)

November brought us the much needed update to Everquest, after many months of windowlicking for more stuff beyond the raids of Empires of Kunark.

As was Pikey tradition, we let the guild populace take some time off to acquire levels and AA to assist the transition to new contents raiding.

Due to the timing of the DLC coinciding with the Festive eating and drinking season, it was decided to take a look at what was hiding behind Bully just for a day or two before full holidays commenced.

So, here we are, first raid – Fell Foliage, guest starring

Cactikii

(which is currently unavailable at the time of writing due to a exploit in the group version, lol)

We took our full turnout raid just to see what it was all about, as we didnt beta test any raids, we had little expectation going in, usual approach, trigger it, die immediately and find out how not to die.

Much to our surprise, instead of dying immediately, we actually progressed and learned quite a lot about the event.

So much, that by the end of the night we had Cactus Godzilla down to 44%, with knowledge that unless Absor pulls a fast one, Senior Cactus should be beatable upon our raiding return.

So, until we return, and serve up Cactus as a side salad. D’pikey wishes everyone reading a Happy Christmas, and a Merry New Year !
