Heavy, Black, and Pendulous

TOV – Heart of Frozen Shadow

Tier 2 raids of TOV take place in Tower of Frozen Shadow, however…

Due to budget cuts, there isnt a Iceclad ocean zone, and therefore no “actual” TOFS, instead we get a dwarf and a portal in Eastern wastes to take us to the interior zone, this could be forgiven in itself, if it wasnt for the knowledge that we missed out on a gargantuan updated Lodizal raid – for shame devs !

The first raid of TOFS isnt enticing, not much to look at besides one big black gonad in the middle of the room, and a more annoying than detrimental slippy ice effect on the floor.

kill the speccies, doges and boners, then torment the testicle while getting slapped in the face with a progressive debuff, thats about it.

A simple event complicated by nuisances more than a difficulty, and beaten in due course after a few days learning

Winter is coming ?

TOV – Torment of Velious

For years, I was used to TOV meaning Temple of Veeshan, so of course, things have to change.

Darkpaw games – or Daybreak as they were when this came out served us up a frosty treat of rehash Velious, well about half of it…

After getting a preview of some of the higher tier “things to come” raids during beta testing, we left the lower ones alone for something new and fresh when launched,

First up was Eastern Wastes – Griklor the Restless

Pretty much the same as group content but with extra annoyance of kill you if you move 1 second too slow to a npc hidden by geometry.

our first day of trying it out was met with huge xp loss and disbelief on how it would be possible, our second day shat on it like a dodgy curry the night before

Next up, same zone, second verse –  Servant of the Sleeper

Im either missing something, or they forgot to put some mechanics into this, kind of encounter that might have happened 10 years ago with the previous velious reworking

And then, we learned what not to do on a raid in Great Divide- Restless Assault

With a post update, the next day we went back, and cleared the event, Koldan (the first giant) being the only real challenge.

Velious might be old, and this is a revisit to “familiar” content, but its music to my ears, some might even say mellifluous, not to have to dress up as a frog with helicopter jetpack just to trigger a raid

Age of Unity is One

This week embraces the 1st anniversary of the formation being Age of Unity.

We have reached and surpassed all what we expected and hoped to achieve, with all raids (with one special exception) beaten and farmed to equip a huge turnout of players that built AOU into the guild it is today.

From the stagnation of Raging Fury and D’Pikey guilds stuck on Sathiers tomb last year, which we promptly beat within a week of birth, and onto through the relatively easy to learn, difficult to execute Veeshans Peak events.

Entering the next/current expansion with some choice GM overseen beta testing with force, we experienced tug of war between flagging 100 raiders and progressing in a timely manner.  besting all the Tier 1 events reasonably well.

only posmoke proving a slight hindrance due to broken mechanics and server instability

As some important pen pusher probably said, you cannot please everyone all the time, we moulded the guild to best suit the majority and approach raiding best suited to our situation.

Tier 2 showed to be little problem for us besides general bugs and event changes and permakilled for a while trigger event NPCs

And only Tier 3 with its chalk and cheese events left, one beaten first day we tried it, the other one…. wasnt.

With Meratrash being what it was, insofar as no guild “should” be able to beat it (even though some have) we didnt throw ourselves at the event every day.

Instead, due to the EQ anniversary bonus zone events, the long awaited Gnome Memorial Mountain finally appearing, we pushed our interest towards that before Mera.

Which we beat in good speed, and as seems to be a common theme with the rule of three, the 2nd event was challenging, 1st and 3rd being pretty trivial in comparison.

So, all that remains now, is the Meratras event, which is a work in progress, while it might take us sometime to beat, its what we expect.
