Vanquished and Voxed

Old news is usually good news

Given we had essentially obtained vanquisher for a majority of the guild a couple of weeks ago, but I refused to update the news until I had it (I was there for them all, but I had benched the one day we “accidentally” stopped the dogs pissing on the tree several months ago)

Anyway, yeh, we got Vanquisher (didnt help that a couple of them were bugged for six months and the lazy buggers at EQ finally fixed them)

This time around is a reasonably decent type5 augment – gone are the days when you got augments on raids … kinda

Which of course brings me to the other old news, augments on raids, being the main focus reward for beating the rather terrible champion of North Ro tower Vox.

This absolute none event takes so long due to the mechanics but I actually longed for emotes or something stupid on this, its just fight the dragon 2 times and all her little frankie the ice giants, such a interesting event I almost forgot it existed besides doing it mostly every week or so.

There must be some lore behind why its Vox, on top of the tower, in the desert ?, if so I missed it.

What I didn’t miss was this magnificent appearance of one of the many EQ gods, pretty sure its her first showing ingame?

Until next time, which will probably be in November !

Shattering of Ro Shattered

Was there any Ro to be shattered ?

After a while of procrastination and outright laziness, I’m prompted to give a AOU update for the latest serving of Everquest,

The shattering of Ro Tier 2, and Tier 3

Tier 2 gave us 4 encounters, The first of these being Ashenback, a fire dragon from Relic, its an older mob with new dynamics, not a lot to it besides avoid the auras unless you need them, something that becomes more common these days.

After Ashenback you are allowed to see the next dragon there, Shar whatitsface, more of the same really, pity they didnt do the 3rd Relic dragon though (Tsikut), long skinny thing, or even that clown Porthio, guess we can be glad of something

The second half of Tier 2 takes place in a reworked Arcstone, with a previously “not a raid event” Tree guy

A fun event that doesnt make much sense including the pacman shaped flower aura, dont ask.

After the Tree we get another classic rework in the form of the Colossus.

And with him, thats T2 beat.

Ok then, we had to wait a month or so for more content, Tier 3 and its interesting trio of actual challenging raids.

The Egg, something we took a look at in Beta, didnt like it then, and Its not my favourite now, stinking thing, but we beat it and its not a pushover.

From the egg we venture deep into what many consider a horrible zone and its full of spiders.

Spider thing was buggered on beta when we were testing, so we saw very little of it, quite a fun event in some ways, lots to do.

And that brings us to the magnum opus of Shattering of Ro.

Innoruuk, or to give him his new name “Echo”

This event is quite something, and gets very interesting, and sometimes quite pretty

All it took was Dalrek to take a week off and his absence ensured the win.

There we go, not many words from me, but plenty of pictures, should please some 🙂

Until next time !
